Mrs. Burbridge: I am a graduate of Western Illinois University, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and a Master’s degree in Reading. I am a certified reading teacher for grades K-4, and reading specialist for grades K-12. I started working at Erie Elementary in 2011. After teaching 3rd and 4th grade, I was thrilled to move into the reading/RtI position last year, where I can share my love of reading with the entire school. I was born and raised in Geneseo, where I still live with my husband, and my two children. My son Jasper is 15 years old, and a sophomore at Erie High School this year. My daughter Gwen is 12 years old, and a 7th grader at Geneseo Middle School. We also have two dogs named Cleo and Nellie. Other fun facts about me: I am the oldest of 8 kids. My favorite book is The Giving Tree. My favorite movie is The Sound of Music. In my free time, I like to read, shop, watch movies, attend my kids’ sporting events, and travel to national parks.
