Lessons & Assignments Tuesday, November 8th

Math - None - We spent the first half of our math block catching up on our missed day of school yesterday.  We made corrections to our science test from last week, and previewed our very busy week.  We had Ag in the Classroom during the second half of our math block, and also completed a reteach page from last week's division lesson.

Science - None - We started our chapter on body systems today.  We did a lab activity on pulse rates.  Students took their pulse while sitting, after one minute of marching, and again after 1 minute of running, then analyzed the results in their journals.

Language Arts - None - We read Dear Mrs. LaRue again today, and completed a spelling and grammar page in class.  We finished up our writing packets as well.  Students had to write about the first day of school using the 5 w's.  We read an expository story about a border collie named Rico, who was able to learn more than 200 words.  We discussed text features such as line graphs, and solved a few math problems using the line graph in the article.  The class used Dear Mr. LaRue as a model to write a letter from Rico to his owner.

Social Studies - None - We did not have social studies today.

Reminder:  SIP early dismissal tomorrow
